Cornell Note Taking

Good day, Scholars.

In order to facilitate the note taking process in our classroom we will use the Cornell note taking system. I have attached the form for you with instructions on how to set up your paper. Understand that lecture is not the number one way I will instruct you, but from time to time it will be necessary (especially at the beginning of a unit).

Setting Up Your Account/1st Blog Post

Greetings Scholars,

Today you will create your edublog account and start your first blog post. Instructions on how to set up your account can be located here.

  1. You must create a username and a password (Please write these down somewhere safe as I do not have the ability to access your accounts.)
  2. Your Blog Domain must follow these guidelines:  Your first name, and rhsportfolio14. For example: seanrhsportfolio14 would be my Blog Domain name.
  3. Your Blog Title must follow these guidelines: Your first name, and Senior Exit Portfolio. For example: Sean’s Senior Exit Portfolio.
  4. When all of this is done, please write down your Blog Domain, and your name and give this to me, so I can enter it on the class portfolio site.

When you have completed these steps you will then complete your first  post. Follow the instructions on how to create a post.

You will be creating an introductory paragraph welcoming readers to your blog. Remember that anyone can gain access to your blog so you will want to represent yourself well, as well as representing Riverdale High School. In your two paragraph introduction please include the following:

  1. Introduce yourself (first names only) and how you view yourself as a learner/student.
  2. Your goals for this blog.
  3. What you hope to accomplish this year through your writing.
  4. 2nd paragraph- Discuss your long term goals and how writing will influence these goals.

Make sure to proofread everything you post, as mistakes will be glaringly obvious.

Regards,

Mr. Antonetti
